Kia sponsors Royal Rugby as sole sponsor for all its inter-school matches

Kia has come forward as the sole sponsor for Royal Rugby this season for all inter-school matches giving the company exclusive rights of to sponsor the branding KIA on the Royal jersey. Kia Director J.M. Swaminathan presented the sponsorship cheque to the principal of Royal College Upali Gunasekara, at a ceremony on April 18th 2012. The Chairman of Kia, Ajit Jayaratne, Managing Director of Kia Mahen Thambiah, Chairman of Royal Rugby Advisory and Management Committee of the RCU Jehan Canagaratne, Secretary of the Rugby Advisory and Management Committee of the RCU, Janodha Thoradeniya and member of Royal Rugby Advisory and Management Committee of the RCU Ajita Pasqual, were present at the handing over of the sponsorship. Royal College Rugby is considered a perfect fit for Kia, a global brand which is synonymous with the vibrancy of youth, and the sponsorship is expected to champion the Royal College Rugby Team to the maximum to derive winning results and bring glory to Royal College.
